RESEARCH AND/OR CLINICAL INTERESTS 

Many patients diagnosed with cancer use, or are interested in using, complementary therapies like nutrition, natural, products, and mind/body practices to deal with the mental, emotional, and physical effects of cancer treatment and to improve their overall health. Dr. Zachary Kadro works with patients to select complementary therapies that can be used safely and effectively alongside conventional treatments to help them with anxiety, depression, stress, difficulty sleeping, and physical symptoms like fatigue, nausea, and pain based on scientific evidence and clinical experience.

Dr. Kadro's research interests broadly include nutrition, lifestyle, mind/body practices, and natural product interventions to address cancer treatment-related, and post-cancer-treatment-related symptoms and side effects, quality of life, and cancer control. He has a specific research interest in finding safe and effective complementary approaches for the prevention and/or reduction of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy. He also has an interest in patient-provider communication about the use of dietary supplements and complementary therapies, and integrative oncology continuing education interventions for oncology healthcare professionals.
