RESEARCH AND/OR CLINICAL INTERESTS

Dr. Rachael Safyan is a medical oncologist focused on improving the care of patients with gastrointestinal malignancies. She is involved in patient care as well as clinical and translational research. Her research focuses on developing clinical trials for patients with pancreatic, colorectal, and other gastrointestinal cancers to advance novel therapeutic agents and identifying biomarkers suggestive of clinical response. Dr. Safyan is also a medical educator and teaches medical students, residents, and fellows. She has received several honors throughout her training including elections to Phi Beta Kappa and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. She was awarded prestigious funding for early-stage investigators including the Conquer Cancer Foundation/ASCO Young Investigator Award (2017) and was selected to participate in the AACR/ASCO Methods in Clinical Research Workshop (2017).
